Those in attendance: Lea Harlow, Stacy Rowe, Sue Fitzsimmons, Mike Taylor, Peter Borsella, Linda Kuhlman, Liz Tracy, Frank Fitzsimmons

Old Business:

Revolve Tour - Sue reported that the tour went very well and the kids had a blast. It is well worth doling again in 2006 as it is being held in Fort Lauderdale at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise the weekend after Rock the Universe. We lost money on this trip because we had to purchase bulk tickets so far in advance.

Scavenger Hunt - Stacy and Mike and Mike reported it went very well with 48 kids participating and a new batch of parents who volunteered to drive. It was suggested that we do this again in the spring as it is so popular. We'll look for a good calendar date.

Planning for Coming Events:

10/28/05 Battle of the Bands - still scheduled. No report from Ray or Brian

12 Hour Famine - Liz Tracy there are four different activities planned for the kids who sign up for this event which helps to relieve hunger through a program of awareness and donations. The event is November 5th from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Grandpa’s Attic is scheduled for the Craft Fair [Nov 11-12th]. Karen Taylor has asked the youth to pick up items given to the Attic for sale. Youth participate in the proceeds from the Attic. Mike Taylor has borrowed Brad Brewster's truck to do pick ups on Wednesday, Nov 9th with boys D-Teams.

Missions and Cheryl Price is going to announce a personal items kit project to be sent to our US soldiers serving in remote areas of Iraq. The youth will participate in the project when we know more about it.

The Craft Fair Snack Sales Fund Raiser is Nov 11-12th. Linda Kuhlman and Kathryn Curry will coordinate the student sign ups this Sunday. We need adult volunteers to man the booth for these days - 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Please -- we urge you to sign up to help us with this fund raiser. Last year Linda Kathryn and their husbands were the only adults who ended working these hours for the weekend. We need your help - please sign up for some time.

Boonaduccious to be held on Nov 12 in West Palm Beach. Mike Taylor is coordinating.

On Nov 22, First Church is hosting the Coral Springs Community Thanksgiving Service for a host of local churches, denominations, and the City Government. The Celebration Committee has asked the youth to participate by placing luminaries around the property. The estimated cost for luminary materials is approximately $200. Sue Fitzsimmons will ask her Wacky Wednesday team leaders and their 45 MS students to organize this for the church.

The Adult Volunteers agreed to cancel Christmas Day Youth Service due to the fact that Christmas Day falls on a Sunday. There are four Christmas Eve services and three Christmas Day services in the sanctuary over that weekend.

Speakers Needed:

Nov 13th - Frank is needed in the sanctuary on this Sunday

Nov 20th - Frank is at Youth Specialties and Mike Taylor has volunteered to speak at youth

Dec 11th - Frank is away for the weekend and Mike Bierman has volunteered to speak.

Adult Training Opportunity:

Group "Live" "Jesus Every Day in Every Way"

March 4th Calvary Chapel

Fee: $59 Paid for out of training budget

It would be a real benefit for as many of our youth volunteers to attend this seminar

Finance: Budget Matters: Linda presented a report showing a net loss of $1,013 for all the trips we have taken so far this year. The bulk of this is due to the Revolve Tour trip to Orlando. Linda explained that the reason we lost money is that we had to purchase tickets some months ahead of time and not enough kids signed up for the event. After some discussion the committee agreed to cover the loss from our Activities budget.

Linda presented a preliminary Budget for 2006. General discussion around the numbers. It was suggested that we add a line item to cover the increased transportation costs due to insurance required on all rented vehicles for our trips. It was suggested that Linda look into the possibility of an IRS refund on sales tax charged to us by the airlines on ski trips.

New Building Discussion:

Peter Borsella reported that he contacted 6 audio/video vendors soliciting help with designing the audio and video needs for the space. Only two replied. Peter.ray Callahan and Frank met with Peerson Electronics - a local form who designed and installed at Spanish River Church and Flamingo Road Baptist. They are going to present a budget proposal in the coming weeks. We decided to not do business with the other firm who is in Missouri and who would subcontract the job to vendors here in Florida. Ray had previously obtained Audio bids from two other local firms. We will know more about Peerson's design by the next meeting.

Sue and Stacy have been meeting with Cathy Kuhns, Brad Brewster, and a design consultant to create the colors and furniture and look of the space. They presented a whole pallet of color selections, flooring, wall coverings, and paint colors to the oos and ahs of all who were there! The designer, Brad, and Kathy Kuhns will continuing to work with them theoughout this process. They believe they will have chair samples and a spreadsheet of costs for the necessary furniture and appliances at the next adult leadership meeting.

We greatly appreciate the work that Peter, Ray, Stacy and Sue have done in planning and designing the new facility. Thank you!

The Next Meeting: November 15th 7:00 p.m. Fellowship Hall

Meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
